Rachel Allessya Rose, a student at Universitas Jakarta Internasional (UNIJI), has once again brought immense pride to the university by making history at the 2025 Australian Open. Teaming up with Febi Setianingrum, Rachel clinched the women’s doubles title after an exciting match against fellow Indonesians Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Meilysa Trias Puspitasari. The match concluded 18-21, 21-19, 23-21 at Sydney Olympic Park, Australia, on November 23, 2025.
This victory is a significant milestone for Rachel, marking her first Super 500 title since partnering with Febi in September 2025. In a fierce and emotional battle, both players showcased incredible fighting spirit, turning the match around after losing the opening game. Their determination and teamwork were crucial in securing this prestigious title, contributing to Indonesia’s overall championship win at the 2025 Australian Open (tvOneNews, 2025; Kompas, 2025).
In a statement released by PBSI, Rachel expressed heartfelt gratitude and joy for this achievement.
“Praise God we could win. We managed to prove the results of our training and effort since we were paired. We’re definitely happy to earn this title—for ourselves and for each other as partners. We were really emotional after winning. We kept trailing in points and were under pressure, but we didn’t give up and turned it around in the end. It shows that in any situation, we always have the chance to become champions. I couldn’t hold back my tears earlier. From now on, we want to maintain our performance, keep learning, and improve even more to reach the top level,” said Rachel with a bright smile.
This remarkable achievement brings immense pride to the entire UNIJI community. As the university’s brand ambassador, Rachel stands not only as a symbol of athletic excellence but also as a true example of how discipline, perseverance, and resilience can lead to international success. Congratulations to Rachel Allessya Rose on an inspiring victory that uplifts fellow students and all Indonesians!
